I on behalf of the peace secretariat wish to invite the LTTE for peace talks ending their terrorism in the New Year. We can achieve peace in 2007 if the government and LTTE engage in peace talks with dedication, forgetting the past bitter experiences, said the peace secretary Dr. Palitha Kohena.

The government is always committed for peace and it has not changed its stand. The government is taking some measures for the security, but it is ready for talks at any time. Hence the LTTE must come forward for talks during this festive season, he said further.
