Road development in the East at a cost of Rs. 6250 million

The cabinet has approved the construction of roads from Akkaraipathu up to Batticaloa and the Kalladi Bridge under the Eastern development and poverty alleviation scheme. The proposal was submitted by Minister of Highways Jaeyaraj Fernandopulle.
The tender for this construction was offered to ‘China overseas Engineering Group Company Ltd’. The estimated cost of this works is 6250 million rupees.
