Fund was allocated without the Cabinet approval to purchase six double cab vehicles for the LTTE during the UNP regime, said the Deputy Finance and Planning Minister, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, in the Parliament yesterday when the appropriation bill for the 2008 budget was tabled in the Parliament. Also money was allocated illegally for the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO). But the funds for Mihin Air and Lanka Puthra Bank were allocated with the Cabinet approval. The TRO is operating to raise funds for the LTTE.

The estimated expenditure of the government for the financial year 2008 will be rupees nine hundred and twenty five thousand fifty seven million two hundred eighty four thousand.
