Priority to de-mining in the East -Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa

The government has given priority to remove the land mines planted by the LTTE in the East, in order to speed up the development projects there, said the Minister of Information and Media, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, at a press briefing held yesterday (27/7) at the Department of Information.

De-mining task is being taken forward with the assistance of the Ministry of Nation Building. The government has given top priority to this work. The security situation is satisfactory in the liberated areas, the Minister added.
