Provincial Council Election after Local polls

Provincial Council Election will be held in the East after the Local Council election, said Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopullai.

An amendment bill was drafted and was submitted to the Supreme Courts for approval to cancel the nominations submitted already. Actions will be taken for the election as soon as the Supreme Court verdict is received. Election is to be held to hand over the power to the public. The cabinet has given its approval for this, he said further.
