Alleged attack on Kfir bomber, an hoax to cover up defeat in Thoppigala

The claim by the LTTE that it brought down a Kfir bomber of the Sri Lanka Air Force is a total lie and a false propaganda made by it to cover up the ignominious defeat it sustained at Thoppigala, said Army spokesman Prasad Samarasinghe.

The LTTE claims that the Air wing of the LTTE had shot down a Kfir bomber when it flew in the area to conduct raids. While a part of the Jet was found in their controlled area the Jet has fallen in the army controlled area they said. Further they have said they were not aware where the Kfir has fallen. The LTTE spokesman Rasiah Punitharuban (Ilanthirian) has said this to the London BBC Sinhala Service

However, the Air Force sources dismissed such claim and said that its air crafts are safe and out of any danger.
