(Lanka-e-News,) Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajaakse says that the LTTE's air attacks launched by two light weight aircrafts have no military effect or value.

He says that these attacks are launched to appease their support base and to appear still strong amidst continuous defeats.

He says that the Tigers have bombed six times so far and during that period Sri Lanka Air Force sorties have carried out around 6000 bombing raids. He further pointed out that Air Force drops bombs weighed from 250 Kg to 1000 Kg whilst LTTE can drop only two bombs weighing 30 Kg each at a time. Based on those facts, LTTE aerial attacks can be considered very small, he said.

Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse further points out that the Air Force carries out its operations with specific targets. But the LTTE had to drop its bomb without taking a target since the Air Force was constantly alert.
