Sri Lanka Government’s Cabinet met yesterday evening to consider the terrorists attack on the Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and resolved that "this barbaric attack" needs serious attention.

The Government has yet to spell out what serious attention it would be?

Following is the full text of the Sri Lanka Government’s statement:

"The Government of Sri Lanka vehemently condemns the dastardly and cowardly attempt on the life of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa this morning in Colombo. The GOSL considers this suicide bomb attack by the LTTE as a serious challenge posed to the security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Sri Lankan state.

The Cabinet, in its meeting today discussed this heinous attack at length and concluded that this barbaric act requires very serious attention."
