I do not like to listen to the terrorist in a forest. We will take necessary action to retaliate if they attack us, said the Government Peace Secretariat Director, Dr. Palith Kohena to Reuter’s news agency when asked about the annual speech of LTTE leader, Prabakaran.

We are committed for peace. This conflict could be solved only by dialogue. This is our stance, but if the LTTE attacks us we are ready for war.

At the same time there is nothing to admire or wonder about the speech of Prabakaran. There is only deceitfulness, said the government defence spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella. We have heard the contents of the speech several times in the past. During his last year speech, he said that President Mahinda Rajapakse is a pragmatic political leader and would give him time. But within two weeks of his speech he unleashed the violence.

These are signs for his deceitfulness and terrorism.  From Thimbu talks to Geneva talks he has uttered the same. It is during these periods, the Dalada Maligawa and Mosques were attacked. Hence there is nothing different or special about his speech, he said.
