The France police took 40 Sri Lankans into custody. Inquiry is being held regarding these 40 Sri Lankans employees of the Charles De Gualle Airport in connection with their illegal entry to France, said the spokesman for Foreign Ministry.
Their ID badges were confiscated and they were arrested. The inquiry is to ascertain whether they have connection with the terrorists. This is one of the actions taken by the authorities to avoid terrorist activities in the airport.
We heard about illegal money transactions in the airport. In a previous inquiry it was revealed that 10 Sri Lankan Tamils had connections with the LTTE. The Sri Lanka Embassy in France was informed regarding this arrest, he further said.
