Police Sergeant killed in LTTE attack- Mannar

A Police Sergeant has succumbed to injuries on admission to the general hospital at Murunkan this morning (May 16), after been shot at by LTTE gunmen in general area Malavarayan-Kaddaiadampan, along the Vavuniya- Mannar main road.

The victim identified as Sergent Preethirathne, 47, was shot by unidentified LTTE gunmen at around 10.45.a.m., Murunkan Police sources said.

Investigations are on progress, Murunkan Police sources further said.
