Sri Lankans in Sweden expose truth about LTTE

Sri Lankans in Sweden held a protest demonstration in front of the Uppsala Library (Uppsala Stora Torget) on May 3, to bring the attention of Swedish authorities and the general public to horrendous atrocities committed by the LTTE and to strip Tigers' false propaganda that have mislead sections of the international community.
The protest demonstration, the latest in a series of actions against the LTTE, was organized by Sri Lankans living in Sweden affiliated with the members and friends of CASTIS (Campaign Against Separatist Terrorism In Sri Lanka), in Sweden.
The participants requested immediate and tangible measures to curb activities of LTTE and pro-LTTE outfits in European nations.
The protesters said that the LTTE terrorist movement is accountable for gross human rights violations, political assassinations, abductions, and the forceble conscription of civilians especially the underaged and elderly to their terrorist movement. They urged the Swedish and European Union authorities to crackdown forthwith on LTTE activities in Sweden and European Nations.
The protesters displayed photographs of the atrocities perpetrated by the LTTE. They also demanded the ban on the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) in Sweden which is funding the LTTE.
TRO is proscribed in the United States accusing the organization for raising funds on behalf of the LTTE through a network of individual representatives. "According to sources within the organization, the TRO is the preferred conduit of funds from the United States to the LTTE in Sri Lanka," U.S. Department of the Treasury announced.
The Government of Sri Lanka proscribed TRO as a terrorists' aiding group in November 2007. The TRO under guise of a charity organization collected and directed funds to the LTTE for procurement operations. Those operations included the purchase of ammunitions, equipment, communication devices and other technology for the LTTE.
