There has been a steady stream of civilians escaping to Government controlled areas from the Un- cleared areas and reporting to camps of the Security Forces in the Mannar Sector recently complaining of continuous harassment by the LTTE terrorists.

Five more civilians including a father aged 66 years and mother aged 63, reported to the Sri Lanka Navy Camp at Pallimunai , Mannar on Friday (04) morning around 8.30 . They were also with their three daughters aged 22, 21 and the youngest being 17 years.

The parents had complained that they had left their homes in the - Un- cleared areas by hiring a boat which cost them Rs100,000 as they lived in fear that their daughters of marriageable age will be forcibly recruited by the Tiger terrorists.
