39 LTTE Cadres killed

  39 LTTE cadres were killed in four separate confrontations throughout yesterday (01) in JAFFNA, VAVUNIYA, MANNAR and WALIOYA. 

Six LTTE cadres were injured when Army troops attacked four LTTE bunkers in NAGARKOVIL yesterday (01) at 11.45 p.m. and 9.15 p.m.

Five LTTE cadres were killed in a confrontation in MARATHAMADU in VAVUNIYA yesterday(01) around 6.20 p.m. Five soldiers injured in confrontation in SULAIMAN, MARAMADU yesterday(01) around 8.45 a.m. Twelve LTTE cadres were killed in separate encounter with Army troops in SULAINA MARATHAMADU area VAVUNIYA yesterday(01) at 1.45 p.m. 12.35 p.m.   and 2.00 p.m.  A T - 56 weapon was recovered.

Eighteen LTTE cadres were killed in confrontations with Army troops in PADEIR KULAM area, VAVUNIYA yesterday (01) 6.40 p.m. and 8.50 p.m.

Two LTTE cadres were killed in a confrontations in PUTHUKADU in MANNAR yesterday(01) around 3.26 and 1.35 p.m. One LTTE cadre was killed in confrontation with Army troops in MALITIDAL in MANNAR around 3.10 p.m. A soldier sustained injuries in an encounter with tiger terrorist in PALLIKKULI, MANNAR yesterday (01) around 8.40 a.m.
Three LTTE Cadres were killed in confrontation in ANDEKULAM in WELIOYA yesterday (01) around 2.30 p.m.

Three soldiers sustained injuries in a confrontation in ANDANKULAM yesterday (01) around 3.30 p.m. - 1.30 p.m. An LTTE trench line was captured by Army troops yesterday (01) around 1.45 p.m. Four LTTE Cadres were injured in the ensuing confrontation. Subsequently 20 hand grenades and 03 booby traps were recovered. One LTTE Cadre was killed and one injured in a confrontation with Army troops in ANADAKULAM yesterday (01) around 6.00 p.m. and 12.30 noon.

 Five soldiers sustained injuries when terrorists attacked troops with mortar fire in ANDANKULAM yesterday (01) around 8.20 p.m. On a search operation conducted yesterday (01) in ANANDAKULAM area, Army troops were able to recover 166 anti - personal mines, one hand grenade and 04 caps.
