Postal voting today

Briefing of Returning officials who are in charge of postal voting of the local government election in the Batticaloa District will take place at the auditorium of the District Secretariat today.

Assistant Election Commissioner Batticaloa District S. Sudakaran says 72 officials have been appointed to certify postal votes. The voting will be conducted on next Thursday and Friday.

Release of Official poll cards of the election to post offices has begun last Friday. Voters who have not yet received their cards could obtain them from nearest post office upon establishing their identity.

Local Government elections for 09 local government bodies including the Batticaloa Municipal Council will be held on the 10^{th of next month.}
