Transport ministry joins with the private sector to boost local transport services

Minister Dalas Alahapperuma says a higher contribution of the private sector will be obtained in making the train service the leader in the public transportation service.  The Minister made this statement, participating in the renovation drive at the Kandy railway station this morning.  The Shevron Lubricant Company has undertaken this renovation programme. 
Speaking further the Minister said the time has come for an attitudinal change in the public transportation service. Active participation of the private sector will be obtained to develop asset and property of the railway department.  This new development project will be carried out covering 12 railway stations between the Colombo Fort and Lunawa.
