Pakistan has expressed its support to the efforts of the government in its fight against terrorism.
Pakistani President Pervez Musharaf said as a country which is also fighting terrorism Pakistan clearly understands the challenge faced by Sri Lanka and expressed his support to preserve Sri Lanka’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
 The Pakistani President told visiting Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs Rohitha Bogollagama that Pakistan held the Sri Lankan President in high esteem and wished him success in his endeavours to end the conflict.
 He also expressed Pakistan’s deep gratitude to Sri Lanka for its position adopted at the commonwealth against Pakistan’s suspension.

Minister Bogollagama said that Pakistan would have been able to resolve its issues given a little more time.
The two parties briefed each other on the steps taken by their respective governments to overcome national issues. Minister Bogollagama also paid a courtesy call on Pakistani Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro and former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to a media release by the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistani Foreign Minister Inam-ul-Haq was present at the meetings between the Sri Lankan Minister and the Pakistani leaders.
