Rs. 300 million from Japan for Agricultural Development

The Japanese Government has given financial assistance worth Rs.300 million for the development of Agriculture in Sri Lanka. This offer has come through the Japan 2 K.R. Programme, for the upliftment of cultivators of the areas with fewer facilities.

 

Under this aid, 603 Mitsubishi tractors, trawlers for 603 tractors and three Kubota harvesting machines have been received.

 

These agricultural equipments would also be utilized in the major development projects of the Eastern Province as per instructions of the Minister of Agriculture Development Maithripala Sirisena.
