US to freeze TRO assets

The US Government has announced its decision to freeze the assets of the TRO, the LTTE Front.The US has accused the TRO of aiding the LTTE by way of finance and purchases. The LTTE has been outlawed since 1997 in the US. The US embassy in Colombo issued a statement, quoting the US Treasury that it had taken action to freeze the assets held by the LTTE in the US.
